Philip Lewis is a staff writer for Mic, and was previously an editor for The Huffington Post. He graduated from Michigan State University. He is interested in the 2016 presidential election, as well as civil rights issues. These influence his writing immensely, and he follows the presidential campaign for some of his articles.
Area 51 has been associated with various conspiracy theories regarding UFOs and extraterrestrial life. Recently, this governmental facility was confirmed to exist by the head administrator of NASA, Charles Bolden. He says that is is a normal research and development place, and that “[he] never saw any aliens or alien spacecraft or anything when [he] was there.” However, some people believe that Bolden may simply not be privy to that information. A former employee, Boyd Bushman, in an interview with Mark Patterson, claimed that he specialized in “reverse-engineering alien UFO technology for the military.” He goes on in greater detail: the aliens were from “Quintumnia” and they were divided into two groups, wranglers and rustlers. Even 2016 presidential candidate Clinton wants get to the bottom of Area 51, at the urging of her campaign chairman John Podesta, who is very interested in alien conspiracy theories.
